This 4-hour course will provide a review of current theories, treatments options, and relapse prevention techniques related to alcohol dependence. Dr. Schuckit will provide case vignettes of clients being assessed for alcoholism or dependence, and will review assessment procedures that have been proven to be useful in assessing alcohol dependence. He will also present information on genetic factors related to alcoholism, and the use of medications in treatment protocols.
