Clinical, Academic, and Research Experience:

    Dr. Sammons is the head of the Mental Health Department at the Naval Medical Clinic, Annapolis, and is currently on active duty in the United States Navy. He was one of the first psychologists to receive prescription privileges through a Department of Defense pilot fellowship program, and now serves on the APA Presidential Task Force on Prescription Privileges. He is the President of the Maryland Psychological Association (2000-2001), and a member of the Board of Directors for the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. Dr. Sammons received Presidential Citations from the American Psychological Association for his groundbreaking work in prescriptive authority for psychologists.
