Richard A. Shaffer, Ph.D.Rick is the vice-president of ProDev. He received his doctorate in clinical epidemiology from the other U.S.C., the University of South Carolina in 1991. He is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Joint Doctoral Program in Epidemiology at San Diego State University, and a Commander in the US Navy.
Rick is currently a Principal or Associate Investigator on seven grants and is the coordinator for the Department of Defense's Leadership and Investment in Fighting an Epidemic (LIFE) Initiative, providing assistance to foreign military forces in Africa to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS. His greatest claim to fame is being a close friend to Tucker, the wonder dog!
